Dynamic Thermal Engineer Opportunity at Axiom Space

Axiom Space was selected by NASA to design astronaut spacesuits for the Artemis lunar missions. These state-of-the-art suits will support advanced space exploration and commercially developed systems for microgravity living and lunar missions.
POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a motivated Thermal Engineer to contribute to the design and development of Axiom's Space Suits in collaboration with the AxPAC team at our Gemini facility. This role requires strong technical expertise in testing and analytical problem-solving, along with excellent organizational and communication skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute to hardware development for low Earth orbit and beyond
- Conduct thermal analysis and design for spacesuits
- Document analysis reports
- Utilize Thermal Desktop for modeling and verification
- Provide guidance on design and perform hand calculations
- Participate in team meetings and technical reviews
- Forecast scope, schedule, and risks for projects
- Create technical design presentations
- Undertake other project-related duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- 5-10 years of experience in thermal analysis
- Proficiency in Thermal Desktop
- Experience in electronic component thermal analysis
- Knowledge of thermal design for components/systems
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must pass U.S. government background check
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency
