**SUMMARY**

Fits parts such as bolts, nuts, washers, pins, and bushings onto product by performing the following duties.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following. Other duties may be assigned. In each of the duties listed below the employee is expected to perform to the highest standards of quality, to strive for maximum customer satisfaction, and to continually look for ways to improve the methods, practices and procedures of this position. Represents the need to support our Quality Management Systems and Environment Management Systems.

Obtains parts and operations desired from work orders.

Assembles parts as indicated on work orders.

Positions parts in specified opening and screws, bolts, or hammers them in place.

Tests products for proper operation.

Records production.

Pushes button, depresses pedal, or pulls down on handles to activate machine.

Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.

Using SPC procedures, measures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.

Operates forklift as needed to move material and product.

Responsible for complying with all company policies, procedures, values, ethics, and rules.

Responsible for following all safety rules including, but not limited to, reporting all accidents to supervisor immediately and utilizing all proscribed safety equipment including personal protective equipment.

Maintains complete security and confidentiality of all Company records and employee data.

Maintains a clean, orderly and professional work area.

Performs other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. **EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**

High School diploma or GED required. A minimum of one year experience as a machine operator or assembler in a manufacturing environment required.

**LANGUAGE SKILLS**

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors and other employees of the organization.

**MATHEMATICAL SKILLS**

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

**REASONING ABILITY**

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
