Preoperative Patient Care:
Prepare surgical suites and equipment. Sterilize surgical instruments. Assist with patient preparation. Anesthesia Management:
Administer and monitor anesthesia. Monitor vital signs during surgery. Adjust anesthesia levels as needed. Surgical Assistance:
Provide surgical instruments and supplies. Maintain aseptic technique. Handle tissues for analysis. Postoperative Care:
Monitor patients in recovery. Provide postoperative care and medication. Maintain detailed records. Radiography and Imaging:
Take and process X-rays. Ensure proper patient positioning. Equipment Maintenance:
Clean, maintain, and sterilize instruments. Perform equipment maintenance. Client Communication:
Explain postoperative care to pet owners. Provide updates on surgical procedures. Emergency Response:
Assist in emergency surgeries. Administer emergency medications. Basic Required Qualifications:
High school diploma Active CA-RVT license is highly desired for this position, but not requiredAt least 3+ yearsof clinical and surgical experience in a Specialty PracticeStrong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients using tact, patience, professional courtesy, and exhibit confidentiality and discretion where appropriate Consistent and reliable ability to monitor anesthesia, perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60-days of hire or transfer into this role; (this requirement is waived if incumbent holds a valid CA-RVT license. All basic required qualifications need to be met and demonstrated or your application will not be considered for this role.Work Schedule:
Full-Time 4/10 Schedule Perks:
$5,000 Sign-On Bonus for new full-time employees Monthly in-house RACE-approved courses and staff development opportunities for all employees Get paid to learn Well cover eligible expenses for continuing education and coursework We also pay YOU when you hit major career milestones, earn your RVT or your VTS and get a cash bonus Compensation range $25.00 -$40.00 hourly plus shift differentials. Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
