Job Type Full-timeDescriptionSUMMARY The School-based Clinical Therapist is responsible for providing individual and group counseling services to students, supporting parents and school staff through collaboration and psycho-education, and providing classroom workshops related to social-emotional development.

This position will be assigned to two K-8 Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Nashville.

This position is full time, 10 months per year (August-May) with four days spent at schools and one day reserved for supervision, training, treatment planning, and documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES Be present on campus (approximately 8:30 a.m.

- 3:00 p.m.) for the contracted days per week at assigned school(s) from August through May or according to the school contract.

Utilize other work hours for treatment planning, documentation, supervision, and training. Provide individual counseling, classroom workshops, and/or small group sessions to students based on the school community's needs. Provide psycho-education and support to client caregivers and teachers as needed.
Communicate regularly with caregivers, including obtaining written authorization to work with their child.

Provide appropriate and timely feedback to referring faculty members and principals on the status of work with the children and families.

Make referrals to other agencies and individuals according to agency guidelines when the clinician cannot meet the client's needs. Submit monthly report on activities to the Compliance Program Manager and to the Principal of the assigned school(s). Participate in regular supervision with the Clinical Program Manager.
Plan and provide one major in-service in August of each year to school faculty. Attend departmental and agency meetings or trainings, as required.

Maintain accurate client and program records regarding services provided according to Agency guidelines, using the database(s) provided by the agency and within Agency time frame.

Actively participate in supervision sessions, periodic team meetings, and training.
Perform other duties as assigned.
RequirementsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Master's degree in social work or related field. Experience working with children and families. Experience working in a school setting preferred.

License in Social Work or related field from the State of Tennessee is strongly preferred or working towards it (e.g., LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, LPC-MHSP).

ADDITIONAL SKILLS OR REQUIREMENTS Knowledge of human behavior and ability to use various methods and techniques of crisis counseling with children and their families.

Ability to relate to and work with emotionally upset individuals. Effective interpersonal skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to exercise good judgment, courtesy, and tact in dealing with the public and staff. Ability to plan and organize work and follow tasks through to completion. Ability to work well under pressure and/or meeting deadlines. Ability to handle confidential information with extreme professionalism. Successful completion of criminal background screening.
