Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company is searching for a Proposal & Marketing Coordinator to join our Preconstruction Services Department. The Proposal & Marketing Coordinator will work with our Preconstruction Services Department, Proposal and Marketing Manager, and other departments as needed. This position will be responsible for crafting construction proposals, marketing collateral, and communication pieces.

The Proposal & Marketing Coordinator position requires excellent writing ability, strong organizational skills, ability to task manage, and an attention to detail, to deliver creative ideas while working both independently and collaboratively. This position requires the exercise of judgment, discretion, and creativity in developing and designing proposal content through understanding and interpretation of request for proposals (RFPs) and qualifications (RFQs), client qualifications and presentations, as each of these deliverables supports acquiring in new projects. The successful candidate will be proactive, able to manage multiple deadlines, and an effective communicator.

Essential Duties

  • Assists in responses to RFQ/RFPs and general qualification efforts assigned, including presentations/interviews, to ensure that the overall theme, technical scope, staff qualifications, and experience are accurate and graphically pleasing.
  • Work directly with senior level technical staff to develop, design and execute proposal materials including writing, editing, verifying and formatting proposal information and ensuring the various aspects of the proposals and other marketing materials are accurate, timely, high quality and well written.
  • Assist in creating marketing materials including informational documents, qualification packages, advertisements, displays, and brochures that contribute to the overall strategic communications planning and implementation.
  • Update company-wide databases with project and proposal information on an ongoing basis, which includes visiting project jobsites and collecting data and information to be uploaded into the company database.
  • Assist in the design and development of promotional materials and advertisements for various clients and publications.
  • Assist in the development of award submittals and coordinate public relations initiatives as needed.

Position Qualifications:

  • BA degree in Marketing, Communications, preferred but not required.
  • ~3 to 4 years in Marketing and Communications (AEC industry knowledge preferred).
  • Strong and effective writing, editing, proofreading, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to task/time manage and meet schedules and deadlines.
  • Creative out of the box thinker with close attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team.
