Position Title: Export Clerk
Job Overview: As an Export Clerk, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the export of goods and products to international markets. You will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and documentation requirements while facilitating the smooth movement of goods through customs and other regulatory bodies. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documentation: Prepare and review all necessary export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, export licenses, and certificates of origin, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitate customs clearance.
- Shipping Coordination: Coordinate the shipment of goods with freight forwarders, carriers, and other logistics providers, ensuring timely delivery to customers and adherence to shipping schedules.
- Customs Compliance: Stay up-to-date with international trade regulations, tariffs, and sanctions, ensuring compliance with export control laws and regulations imposed by relevant authorities.
- Customer Service: Act as a primary point of contact for customers regarding export orders, providing assistance, resolving issues, and answering inquiries related to shipment status, documentation, and customs clearance.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of export shipments, inventory levels, and shipping documents, ensuring proper documentation and traceability of goods throughout the export process.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with internal departments, such as sales, logistics, and finance, to coordinate export activities and ensure alignment with business objectives and customer requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges associated with export operations, such as transportation delays, customs issues, or regulatory changes, to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth execution of export transactions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in export operations, logistics, or international trade preferred.
- Strong knowledge of export regulations, customs procedures, and international shipping documentation.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and export management software.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of Incoterms and international trade terms is a plus.
