Responsibilities:

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis will involve:Design AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies and related hardware for RF amplifiers and electronic systems.

Understand basic SMPS convertor topologies including buck, boost, and buck/boost architectures.

Develop and implement EMI/EMC compliant designs including EMI filters and shielding.


Develop firmware & digital circuit for power amplifiers and other electronics which could include FPGAs, CPLDs, DSPs, processors, high speed data convertors, signal conditioning, and power conversion circuits.

Prepare VHDL and C/C# code as required to meet commitments of the Company.

Understanding of relevant MIL-461-STD level specifications, e.g., CE102.

Understand System Impacts and/or Trades between various DC/digital implementations with RF and Mechanical design aspect.

Able to work/negotiate with the other team members and customer on design trades.


Understanding of the control theory of RF devices and how to apply it to make proper decisions in the early design phase of a project.

Assist with embedded code and PC graphical user interfaces written in C and Visual C#.


Work through all phases of a project's life cycle, including system architecture design, schematic creation, parts selection, advise design engineers during PCB layout, firmware development, system integration, system verification and transitioning projects to other engineering teams or the manufacturing department.

Utilize lab equipment i.e., Spectrum Analyzer, Power supplies, Electronics Power Loads, Oscilloscope, and Signal Analyzer, for testing and analysis.

Capable of applying lean design techniques to produce efficient, low cost and easily manufacturable electronic modules and systems.


Assist in meeting project scheduled milestones and present and/or discuss design issues during TIM's, PDR, CDR and any other customer meetings as required.


Perform Detailed Design Reviews for all process gates in assigned technical area to ensure the technical success of all new and modified designs.


Ensure Design Trades within Technical Area are appropriate and weighed against technical, schedule and cost aspects to include Design to Unit Production Cost (DTUPC) targets.


Identify new customer and/or vendor requests and be able to infer potential technical impact to original SOW and/or spec and documents these requests for Project Manager/Project Engineer to address potential costs implications.


Communicate effectively using both oral and written communication during internal design reviews, and confidently answer questions and provide expertise on the subject.

Interact with Project Engineers and Program Managers to inform them of project status and aid in project timeline planning.

Create test methods for engineering and production validation and verification.

Provide engineering support to the test and production departments, as required.

Assist with legacy design issues and ensure adequate resolution as required.

Maintain current and accurate design records, including regularly using the company firmware repository and releasing documents and firmware.

Assist in the appropriate selection of electronics parts and resolving obsolescence issues.

Ensure that the Digital Engineering department meets the needs of internal and external customers and help identify deficiencies.

Provide expertise by assisting in the formulation, development, and implementation of operating strategies and policies.

Ensure Lessons Learned are appropriately captured, reviewed, and accommodated for in design activities for responsible Technical Area.


Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in the electronics or physics disciplines.

A minimum of two (2) years of related work experience.

This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by either ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws.

As a condition to this job offer, in order to be employed in this position, you must be able to obtain an U.S.

Government export license(s), as required by law.

Preferred

Qualifications:


MS Office, (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio), Internet Software, MATLAB, schematic capture programs, PCB Layout, Spice Circuit Simulation, or equivalent programs.


Salary Range:
$77, ,283 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
