Job Posting:

The Accounting Specialist will assist in requests from clients and agents in order to process financial information on accounts.

Will be asked to train and assist in processing in the areas below:

  • All disbursement requests, which include partial surrenders, surrenders, loans, allocation and fund transfers, and matured annuity rider transactions.
  • All accounting requests, which include reconciling and balancing all payment jobs, processing bank changes, allocation and fund transfers, wires, EFT balancing, reconciling, and clearing the daily errors report.
  • All correspondence requests, which include general inquiries into policies, TEFRA questions, TAMRA questions, inforce illustration requests, premium and loan histories, beneficiary changes, ownership changes, and assignments.
  • All tax requests, which include ensuring that appropriate tax reporting occurred and verifying the cost basis.
  • Reports all suspense items to each team and manager and ensures that these are cleared within the designated time frame. Will need to work with the team members to assist them in reviewing and researching suspense items to appropriately clear.
  • Interacts with representatives, policyowners, and internal departments.
  • Processes all Legacy Life requests, which are maintained in a separate database.
  • Will need to assist with training new hires and existing employees periodically.
  • High school diploma.
  • Four or more years of experience.
  • No supervisory/management experience.
  • Prior insurance and/or banking experience (two to three years preferred)
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting functions and/or bank procedures
