SUMMARY


The Special Services Compliance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to special education services within the Lake Washington School District.

This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including special education teachers, administrators, and families, to maintain high standards of compliance and support for students with special needs.

The Special Services Compliance Supervisor will develop and implement policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure adherence to legal requirements and best practices in special education.

This position supervises 5 department support professionals and reports to the Executive Director of Special Services.

EXPERIENCE &

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in special education, education administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • At least five years of experience in special education, with a focus on compliance and administration
  • Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing special education services
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of data management and analysis techniques
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Special Education Administrator certification
  • Experience working in a supervisory or leadership role in special education
  • Knowledge of special education software systems and technology tools
This is an exempt position.
