Job Title: Flooring Estimator

Job Description:

  • We are looking for an experienced Estimator with at least 5 years of experience in estimating within the construction industry, particularly in flooring projects.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating costs for flooring projects by carefully examining project specifications, conducting thorough site visits, and effectively sourcing materials and labor.
  • Collaboration with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams is crucial to ensure the submission of accurate and competitive bids.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to understand project requirements thoroughly.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project scope, existing conditions, and specific needs.
  • Analyze project plans and specifications to estimate materials, labor, and other project costs accurately.
  • Source and negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers for materials and labor to ensure competitiveness and quality.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals customized for flooring projects.
  • Work closely with sales and project management teams to develop competitive bids that meet client expectations.
  • Present estimates to clients, addressing any questions or concerns professionally and clearly.
  • Maintain detailed records of estimates, bids, and communications for transparency and reference.
  • Follow up with clients to discuss bid results and negotiate contracts when necessary.
  • Provide support to project management teams during project execution to ensure a smooth transition from estimation to implementation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating in the construction industry, focusing on flooring projects.
  • Thorough understanding of flooring materials, installation methods, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in interpreting project plans, specifications, and drawings.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Salary: Salary up to $65,000 per year
