Description

Join our team at SAIC, a leading expert in Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) integration. We specialize in modernizing legacy systems into a hybrid cloud setup for quicker decision-making and enhanced mission success. As part of our new program, we are focused on providing a tactical operational view aligned with JADC2 and Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) to counter new threats effectively.

We are currently looking for a skilled Systems Architect to support our valued customer, the United States Air Force. The selected candidate will be pivotal in developing and executing intricate systems, ensuring project requirements are well-documented, understood, and communicated effectively throughout the project lifecycle. Collaboration with stakeholders is key in gathering and analyzing system requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and recommending technology upgrades and adoption. Leveraging model-based system engineering (MBSE) will be vital in defining system functions and requirements, and integrating complex solutions optimally.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold US citizenship with an active Secret clearance and the ability to acquire a TS/SCI clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert engineering and capability guidance to the Systems Engineering team to assess the feasibility of target technologies
  • Offer modernization strategies to streamline tightly coupled software/system architecture for the Integration team
  • Support the design and implementation of the TOC-L baseline for seamless integration of HW and Software Government Furnished Equipment (GFX)
  • Contribute to system of systems (SoS) engineering, participating in technical reviews and design meetings
  • Evaluate engineering change proposals, interface change requests, and system engineering documents
  • Conduct requirements analysis and maintain traceability throughout the design process

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive experience in architecting complex command and control systems
  • Familiarity with Software Communications Architectures (SCA)
  • Hands-on experience with Open Mission Systems/Universal Command and Control Interface (OMS UCI) 2.0+ compliance
  • Proficiency with Micro-Service Plugin based architectures like Service Mesh, API Gateway, ISTIO, Consul
  • Knowledge of developing Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and working with various databases
  • Experience with data ingest tools such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, and ActiveMQ
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and aligning mission requirements with system design
