Staffing Behavior Technician

Aveanna is looking for passionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to join our team at ABA-based clinics located in schools. The ideal candidate will play a key role in implementing individualized behavioral strategies for students aged 3-5 to support their progress and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct Implementation of ITPs: Work closely with students to apply instructional and behavioral strategies specified in their Individualized Treatment Plans (ITPs). Utilize evidence-based interventions such as Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Natural Environment Training (NET), and Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT).
  • Behavior and Skill Development: Support the enhancement of communication, social, and adaptive skills through various teaching methods. Use techniques like Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices to improve communication skills.
  • Data Collection and Progress Monitoring: Gather real-time data on behaviors and skill acquisition using digital tools. Maintain detailed progress records for review by the BCBA and interdisciplinary team.
  • Positive Behavior Support: Implement proactive strategies to encourage positive behaviors and address challenging behaviors. Assist in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and applying Positive Behavior Support (PBS) techniques.
  • Service Provision: Deliver services as outlined in each student's Individualized Treatment Plan.
  • Documentation and Billing: Complete daily clinical notes to ensure accurate records and facilitate billing.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 1 year experience working with children facing developmental and behavioral challenges, preferably in an educational or clinical environment. Proficiency in ABA principles and techniques. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collect and document data effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a plus. Experience with data collection tools and software. Familiarity with Positive Behavior Support (PBS) strategies and Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs).
