Payroll Associate

We are hiring a Payroll Specialist
In search of a dedicated individual to join our team at a mission-driven non-profit company located in the DC Metro Area. If you have experience with Paylocity and/or ADP platforms, and possess a solid understanding of financial processes along with a strong commitment to social change, then you might be the perfect fit for us.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and process payroll efficiently, including tracking discrepancies and maintaining records
- Review and verify Vacation, Sick, Floating Holiday, and Holiday Hour balances accurately
- Perform reconciliations for payroll activities such as Reversals, Voids, and Replacement Checks
- Provide backup support during planned or unplanned absences
- Identify process improvement opportunities and suggest procedural updates
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, especially in Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Collaborate with various departments to resolve payment discrepancies and errors
- Handle Garnishment processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations
- Assist in validating tax forms for accuracy
- Complete other job-related tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in payroll administration; familiarity with payroll tax processes
- Hands-on experience with Paylocity and/or ADP is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret legal documents related to wage garnishment
- Stay informed about laws and regulations affecting wage garnishments and tax compliance
- Experience with employee Pay Cards preferred
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team setting
- Adapt well to a fast-paced work environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Work independently while ensuring data confidentiality
