Upper Elementary Teacher

We are hiring for the school year.


SCA conducts pre-employment and drug screening for all positions which includes a criminal background check, verification of work history, academic credentials, licenses, and certifications.

A Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card is also required.

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES:

  • Education & Certification
  • Bachelor?s Degree in Elementary Education or a related field from an accredited college is required; Master?s Degree preferred.
  • State teaching certification preferred.
  • Attain an ACSI 2year Temporary Certificate within the first year of employment and an ACSI Standard Certificate in your teaching discipline within 3 years of employment.
  • Experience:
  • Training in Elementary Education and best practices in teaching is required.
  • Prior teaching experience preferred
  • Skills:
  • Ability to develop authentic relationships with young adults
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage and control the classroom.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem resolution skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in highstress situations.
  • Excellent organizational skills for multitasking and prioritizing responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Knowledge of FACTS a plus.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to traverse school grounds and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Display the ability to connect Biblical truth to elementary school students.
  • Teach Elementary content and Bible classes utilizing the latest research and best practices.
  • Promote student engagement to inspire and encourage progress while supporting and strengthening the learning capabilities of each student.
  • Maintain a healthy learning environment for the students in the classroom as well as instruction while monitoring and managing students? behavior, including appropriate enforcement of student behavior rules.
  • Teach classes assigned following prescribed scope and sequence as scheduled by the Administrator/Principal.
  • Maintain records by documenting learning accomplishments, attendance, and behavior.
  • Establish and adjust course syllabi outlines and objectives by following curriculum guidelines and school goals.
