Position Summary:

The Housekeeper is accountable for the upkeep and cleaning of guest rooms, hallways, furnishings, flooring, and common areas. Cleaning tasks include restocking supplies, sanitizing equipment, and making beds. Typically, the role involves vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and other general cleaning activities.

Essential Duties:

  • Make beds.
  • Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses and writing materials.
  • Thoroughly clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
  • Handle the cleaning of rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using vacuum cleaners.
  • Dust furniture and equipment.
  • Polish metalwork like fixtures and fittings.
  • Clean walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
  • Wash windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Empty wastebaskets and clean ashtrays.
  • Dispose of trash and waste appropriately.
  • Restock bathroom supplies.
  • Replace light bulbs.
  • Adhere to safety regulations when using chemicals.
  • Arrive for scheduled shifts on time and in uniform as per company policy.
  • Understand and comply with all company policies and procedures related to the position.
  • Take the initiative to greet guests warmly and cordially.
  • Perform any other relevant duties as needed.

Key Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in hotel housekeeping is advantageous.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills required.
  • Familiarity with Hotel Brand systems is a plus.
  • Strong customer service skills essential.
  • Effective prioritization and time management abilities necessary.
  • Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
