We are recruiting for multiple positions at a variety of experience levels to work on-site in Hawaii, supporting State Unemployment Insurance processing.
Our ideal candidates have directly or indirectly worked for a State (public) Unemployment Insurance System.
We are also interested in strong, motivated candidates with experience in similar roles such as social caseworker, parole probation counselor, student counselor, religious counselor or veterans affairs administrator.
- The position is located in Honolulu, Hawaii.
- This is a full-time, temporary role for a duration of two years, starting immediately.
- There is potential for outstanding performers to transition into a full-time, permanent position.
- Manage and process unemployment insurance claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide guidance and support to claimants, resolving issues and answering inquiries.
- Conduct detailed case analysis, handling more complex situations with a high level of autonomy.
Requirements:
- Direct experience or a comprehensive understanding of the federal Unemployment Insurance (UI) program is highly recommended.
- Candidates with experience as HR administrators or employment specialists familiar with State Unemployment Tax Act (SUTA) contributions and claimant eligibility verification, a background in employment law, and proficiency in accounting or audit related to employment and taxation are highly recommended.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex regulations.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in handling sensitive information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathy and patience in customer interactions.
- Excellent ability to work collaboratively with distributed cross-functional teams.
