Minimum of 60 hours of college hours eligible to student teach, classified as a senior at an accredited college or university Minimum of 6 months of experience working with elementary age children and knowledge of the learning process preferred Be enrolled in an approved educator preparation program Be selected as a Paid Teacher resident as part of the application process through the University and Fort Bend ISD Demonstrate knowledge of content, curriculum and instruction methods, materials and resource of instruction to which assigned Ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents Strong oral and written communication skills required Ability to follow policy and procedures in campus and district handbook Ability to plan, teach and self-reflect Receptive and accepting of constructive criticism Be available to attend meetings and conferences before and after school Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Strong interpersonal skills Ability to operate a variety of classroom instructional equipment, including and not limited to computers, audio/visual and video equipment Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
