Job Description

Job Summary


Reviews and evaluates title searches and insurance risk factors and must be able to justify and communicate underwriting requirements to agents, title examiners, buyers, sellers, lenders, counsel, and other real estate professionals on real estate transactions.

Job Responsibilities

Determines premiums, terms and conditions based established rules, rates, and guidelines.

Analyzes data relevant to underwriting risk, including financial conditions of relevant parties, past claim experience among various factors, and use of improvementsApplies broad industry knowledge and business acumen to drive financial performanceProvides mentorship and guidance to fellow Underwriters to support their professional developmentRegarded as technical expert within disciplineAnticipates business and regulatory challenges to proactively assess impact to work performedRecommends improvements to product, process or serviceLeads complex or specialized projectsWorks within general functional policies and industry guidelinesImpacts direction of program, project or servicesSolves unique problems with broad impactDevelops creative solutions through conceptual and innovative thinkingCommunicates complex ideas across functions and levelsIndividual contributor working independently; only requires guidance in highly complex situations.

Performs all other duties as assigned by managementEducation

Juris Doctorate requiredExperience

Typically requires 10+ years of related multi-state work experience
