Position Overview:

The Housekeeping Houseperson assists Room Attendants and upholds cleanliness standards throughout the hotel.

  • Support Room Attendants by clearing vacant rooms, handling dirty linens, and trash disposal as directed by management/supervisors.
  • Deliver supplies to guest rooms and floors, perform hallway and room shampooing, and manage trash removal from guest areas.
  • Ensure cleanliness of elevators, sweep and mop floors, vacuum carpets, wash walls, dust furniture, and make up roll-away beds. Also involved in furniture and equipment movements.
  • This role may entail additional tasks assigned by supervisors beyond those specified in the job description.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
  • Ability to inspire teamwork towards common goals.
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and hotel data.
  • Flexible Schedule - Openness to work varied shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands:
  • Must have physical agility to walk, stand, and move effectively.
  • Capable of bending, stooping, squatting, and stretching.
  • Tasks include grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, lifting, and listening with visual acuity.
  • Able to handle carts and equipment up to 250 lbs regularly, and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Preferably high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years in a similar luxury hotel role is advantageous.
  • Grooming: All staff must adhere to specific grooming standards.
