Position Summary

The Facilities Department in the University of New Mexico College of University Libraries & Learning Sciences (CULLS) seeks a motivated and highly-engaged student employee interested in a challenging and dynamic working environment. Under direct supervision, the Library Assistant will work with University Libraries staff and student employees in a team environment to:

Learn and apply library and campus policies and procedures Assists in carrying out various activities related to such areas as shipping and receiving and materials handling as appropriate to the position. Performs various office support as assigned, may act as courier for the delivery and pickup of library materials between various library units. Assists in maintaining cleanliness of facilities Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Successful applicants will have the opportunity for progressively independent work and increased responsibility within a collegial team environment. CULLS student employees are employed on a term basis for the current academic year.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


• Currently enrolled at UNM for a minimum of 6 credit hoursduring the normal school year.

• Ability to make independent decisions and judgements on routine procedural issues


• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.


• Demonstrated ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively.
