Responsibilities
  • POSITION SUMMARY: Lead Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is responsible for providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist in accordance with the patients' plan of care. The PTA will screen patients, educate patient and family, utilize exercises and physical therapy modalities in the treatment and rehabilitation of individuals with medical problems, health-related conditions, or a developmental disability that limits their ability to move or perform functional activities. Assist in program supervision responsibilities. Some travel may be necessary in the provision of services between facilities and job functions. This position summary includes the most relevant duties, responsibilities, and does not exclude other assignments not mentioned.
Qualifications
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Must be able to travel to STHS facilities as needed
    2. Membership in a professional organization is preferred
    3. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training, and immediately reporting suspected compliance issues to the Compliance Officer.
  • EDUCATION / LICENSURE:
    1. Licensure in the State of Texas as a Physical Therapist Assistant
    2. Three or more years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
    3. Must have and maintain current BCLS certification, according to unit-specific needs. Certification must align with the curriculum of the AHA, for the Healthcare Provider's Program.
