GENERAL FUNCTION
The Lab Technician plays a crucial role in providing exceptional value to customers through The LensCrafters Experience. They go above and beyond to meet customers' expectations by manufacturing eyewear following LensCrafters Quality Manufacturing Program, ensuring efficient service with quality.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Lab Technician carries out the following tasks to produce high-quality eyewear:

– Selecting lenses, marking, taping, blocking, generating, fining and polishing, coating polycarbonate lenses, first (surface) inspecting, finish layout and blocking, edging, tinting, UV and anti-reflective coating, grooving, drop-ball testing, safety monogramming, mounting, and final inspecting.


They are responsible for operating, cleaning, and maintaining laboratory tools and equipment, diagnosing and solving equipment issues by following QMP maintenance procedures.


The Technician continuously enhances their technical knowledge through the Quality Manufacturing Program, applying it to the production of all eyewear.

They handle multiple tasks simultaneously with precision, utilize their product knowledge to choose the best manufacturing process for standard and special orders, paying attention to detail in all aspects of production.

They take the initiative to identify discrepancies, suggest improvements, and ensure customer satisfaction by recommending solutions.

Operates Point of Sale system accurately, contributing to the lab statistics, and focuses on achieving exceptional results according to LensCrafters' standards.

They contribute to enhancing top-line performance and profitability, taking pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe lab and stock room.

Compliance with safety regulations is a priority, including proper storage and use of supplies/chemicals as per safety programs. The Technician practices safe work methods, including wearing personal protective equipment.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
High School Graduate or equivalent

Strong customer service skills (internal and external)

Effective communication and listening skills

Strong mathematical skills

Organizational and problem-solving abilities

Excellent inter-personal skills (friendly, caring, patient)

Knowledge of store merchandise

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Optical training

Prior experience in optical

Experience with machinery
