Role Overview:
The Machining CNC Operator plays a vital role within the Wabtec Team. Operating the Machining department CNC Machines, the operator diligently meets production requirements while prioritizing safety and quality in all tasks. Utilizing precision measurement tools like calipers and micrometers is crucial to ensure the delivery of high-quality parts.


  • Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Feed raw materials or parts to semi-automated machines.
  • Inspect parts using precision and measuring tools.
  • Assist in machine setups during operations.
  • Address issues that may arise during shifts.
  • Record approved and defective units or products.
  • Perform finishing tasks on parts.
  • Follow defined processes and prioritize safety.
  • Collaborate with supervisory staff.
  • Seek continuous process improvements.

Qualifications:
To excel in this role, effective communication, organizational skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to work as part of a team are essential. The ability to lift weight, wear necessary safety gear, read blueprints, and learn CNC Machinist skills are also required competencies.


Physical Demands:
This role entails constant standing, lifting, walking, bending, and handling materials and tools. It also involves visual tasks, occasional climbing, and operation of heavy machinery, requiring adherence to safety protocols.


Work Environment:
The environment involves a temperature-controlled manufacturing setting with exposure to various elements like noise, fumes, and chemicals. Safety precautions and on-site presence during scheduled shifts are vital.
