POSITION SUMMARY:
The Nurse Manager Surgical Services oversees the day-to-day clinical operations of the center. This role involves various responsibilities such as planning, organizing, delegating, coordinating, managing staff, allocating resources, controlling costs, and ensuring compliance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate is a Registered Nurse with experience in operating rooms, Post-Anesthesia Care Units (PACU), or Pre-Admission settings in endoscopic or surgical environments. Preferably, candidates should have at least two years of recent management experience in ambulatory care. Past roles like charge nurse, lead nurse, clinical coordinator, or nurse manager are highly valued. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or current enrollment in a BSN program is preferred, along with basic computer skills.
REQUIRED LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION:
Applicants must hold current certifications, including Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), and a Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida. Additional certifications such as Certified Nurse Operating Room and Leadership Certification are advantageous.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLSAND ABILITIES:
The candidate should be proficient in English, with knowledge of additional languages being a plus. Strong communication skills are essential for tasks like counseling, teaching, and assessment, as well as for effectively interpreting professional journals and guidelines. They should possess critical thinking abilities and be adept at tackling complex intellectual and practical challenges.
