Patient Care Coordinator

Job Summary:

MBC is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to provide assistance to various healthcare services following established policies and protocols including, but not limited to: screening and scheduling all new patient appointments, obtaining records, and imaging studies, managing medical record requests, scanning, and attaching documents within the electronic medical record, patient check in and out, insurance verification and authorizations, phone/message triage and collaboration with all team members.


Essential Functions:
Front office patient registrationResponsible for all screening and scheduling of all patient's new or existing based on MBC protocolsSupplying new/existing patients with the appropriate formMaintenance/updates of all applicable forms for new/existing patients and medical recordsVersatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasmAnswers and screens telephone calls in a professional and timely manner: takes accurate messages with a high degree of professionalism and courtesyExercises considerable judgement and discretion in handling requests for appointments and telephone callsAble to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact, diplomacy and disciplineExcellent written and oral communication skillsResponsible for all medical record requests and supplying appropriate informationStrong communication skills with all departments within MBC and other external officesComposes, types and distributes professional correspondence and memoranda, E-mails and faxes, using individual initiative and as assignedObtaining medical records from new/existing patient and downloading CDs of imagesScan in all written reports with records (i
