General Description

The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) is a state organization dedicated to partnering with communities to help create a climate of success for Georgia's families and businesses.

Overview of Job:


Under the general supervision of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the incumbent will analyze customer business needs and work within the business unit to plan, design and implement new or enhanced administrative policies and procedures.

This role assists the broader DCA user community through utilization and maintenance of cross-functional business tools and support systems.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience OR Two years of experience at the lower-level IT Business Analyst 1 (ITP060) or position equivalent.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent staff person in the Business Operations Analyst (BOA) role will be charged with helping to centralize and manage several financial and administrative services functions for the Office of Information Technology, including but not limited to, data collection and analysis, end-to-end management of IT-related procurement requisitions, tracking hardware and other deployed asset in inventory, monitoring contract and license renewals, and other related duties as assigned.

The (BOA) will be responsible for collaborating on planning, development activities, and various administrative tasks across multidisciplinary teams. These teams include staff from IT, Finance and Budget, Legal Services, and Administrative Services.

Additionally, the BOA may need to facilitate meetings, help during staffing shortages, and offer administrative support to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and Project Management Office (PMO) when necessary.

Additional/Preferred Technical Proficiencies

Beyond the minimum qualifications for this role listed above, familiarity and experience with Microsoft 365, ServiceNow, and State of Georgia SAO Teamwork's Financials.

Familiarity with State procurement contract types and Team Georgia Marketplace is also preferred, though not required.
Proficiency in spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including data analysis and reporting capabilities.
Ability to create and maintain detailed spreadsheets for tracking various tasks and projects.
Familiarity with basic IT troubleshooting and support procedures
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing service desk tickets and administrative tasks.
Excellent communication skills for effectively liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders
Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a dynamic environment
Work Conditions (Travel, Hours, Environment)
This position is currently designated as in-office, non-remote position.
This position is full-time (40 hours per week) and may require occasional overtime.
Local periodic travel may be required.
Physical/Sensory Requirements

This position is classified as:

Sedentary Work – Incumbent must have the ability to exert pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
