Job Summary: The Paraprofessional will assist in the development and implementation of behavioral intervention plans for students exhibiting challenging behaviors. This role involves working closely with teachers, behavioral specialists, and other school staff to provide direct support to students, ensuring they receive the necessary interventions to thrive in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting functional behavioral assessments (FBAs) to identify student behavior issues and their underlying causes.
  • Support the development and implementation of individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Provide direct support and intervention to students, both one-on-one and in group settings, to address and manage behavioral challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to create positive, structured, and effective learning environments.
  • Assist in training and guiding teachers and staff on behavior management techniques and strategies.
  • Work with parents and guardians to ensure consistency in behavior intervention strategies between home and school.
  • Collect and maintain data on student behavior and the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss student progress and plan further interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student behavior and progress.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children and adolescents, particularly in behavior management or intervention roles.
  • Strong knowledge of behavior assessment tools and intervention strategies.
  • Understanding of child and adolescent development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification or coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a Paraprofessional or similar role in an educational setting.
  • Bilingual proficiency.
