Position Overview: As a Sr Process Engineer, you will be a vital contributor to the development, optimization, and deployment of cutting-edge process technologies that power the future of sustainable aviation and ocean transport. Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering (Americas), youll work on projects within both the R&D and Engineering departments. This role will benefit from direction and support from the team lead in the engineering group, who also reports to the VP of Engineering. You will collaborate closely with teams of highly talented domain experts, bringing your experience in process development and engineering and contributing to transformative projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply your industry experience to: (a) advance the development of the company's proprietary technologies at the pilot scale; and (b) assist the development of the company's commercial scale production projects. Support technical projects related to process engineering activities, including simulations, flowsheeting, and economic analysis, and tracking progress against project objectives.
  • Develop and run ASPEN models to optimize process conditions for the company's pilot lines and commercial scale projects.
  • Participate as a hands-on process engineer in the characterization, optimization, and scale-up of the Aurora process, which combines Reverse Water Gas Shift (RWGS), reforming, Fischer-Tropsch (FT) synthesis and FT product upgrading in a novel way, enabled by the company's proprietary Tri-Converting and FT Upgrading catalysts
  • Participate as a process engineer in the development of Aurora preliminary design packages (PDPs)
  • Generate mass and energy balances for the various configurations of Aurora
  • Economic analysis will include generating OPEX and CAPEX for various configurations of Aurora
  • Interface with project teams, including other team members within the company, technical partner staff, and engineering contractors to ensure company technical objectives are being met.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with 5+ years or Masters with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Background in petrochemicals, refining (oil and gas), or biofuels
  • Experience in process engineering with a focus on development / implementation / engineering
  • Experience/proficiency in developing and running Aspen Plus models and similar software to simulate and optimize process conditions.
  • Experience with RWGS, SMR, FT, wax cracking, and/or hydro-isomerization processes
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with a wide range of experts.
  • Startup experience or similar, showcasing adaptability and resourcefulness in setting up resources and infrastructure.
