The Relay Technician II/III is a skilled technician specializing in the maintenance, testing, and repair of protection systems in electrical substations.   • Performs testing on various systems and equipment.
  • Assists in training and supervising field personnel.
  • Works on testing circuit components and evaluates equipment performance.
  • Supervises substation construction and supports engineering design.
  • Provides regular updates to supervisors and identifies project risks.
  • Operates as a technical lead among the Relay Technicians in executing defined objectives.
  • Utilizes standard practices to solve problems and make informed decisions.

Qualifications

Required Education, Skills & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of vocational or technical training in Electrical Technology preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of related experience.
  • Strong business acumen in the Utility industry.
  • Knowledge of leading practices in transmission relay.
  • Strong planning and project management skills.
  • Ability to adapt and learn new technologies.
  • Effective team player with good communication skills.
  • Pass the appropriate EEI Pre Employment Test.
