Our client, a growing real estate firm, is seeking a driven and dedicated Senior Property Accountant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data across various areas. Strong analytical and organizational skills are essential to support the accounting team effectively. This role is hybrid and based out of their Philadelphia, PA office.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a small team overseeing the highly transactional property portfolios for the Company.
  • Oversee all the accounting for the Industrial Outdoor Storage (IOS) portfolio investments
  • Maintain/reconcile GL and update supporting detail schedules
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting for the IOS portfolios
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing the quarterly financial reporting for the IOS fund portfolio
  • Work directly with the acquisitions and asset management teams in preparing quarterly valuations
  • Work directly with site management teams, corporate management, external tax teams, external auditors and lenders
  • In addition to accounting for the monthly operations, the accountant will need to review settlement sheets (i.e. prorations, invoices, etc.) and record acquisition, refinance and disposition transactions
  • Set up lease schedules and maintain rent rolls for each IOS portfolio, as well as track rents each month
  • Oversee the accounts payable function for IOS
  • Prepare miscellaneous (ad-hoc) schedules for management and investors as requested.
  • Work with lenders submitting draw requests for capital projects and maintain capital budgets
  • File monthly/quarterly state returns (i.e. sales tax, U&O tax, gross receipts tax) and license renewals as needed.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of property accounting experience
  • Fund experience, preferred
  • CPA license, preferred
  • Public accounting experience is a plus
  • Yardi experience is a plus
  • Strong Microsoft office skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience working on multiple entities and managing multiple reporting deadlines
  • Experience managing a small team is a plus
