Staff Civil/Environmental Engineer

Position Overview
- Burns & McDonnell is currently seeking a talented Staff Civil/Environmental Engineer to join our dedicated Environmental Services (ENS) Engineering team.
- As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects related to solid waste management, stormwater quality and management, site development, remediation, biogas, and sustainability.
- This role offers early career professionals the chance to engage with clients, contribute to project pursuits, and present thought leadership at conferences.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply standard civil and environmental engineering design concepts, codes, and procedures.
- Lead or support engineering projects from initial planning to construction completion.
- Manage tasks such as preparing drawings, technical specifications, reports, and data compilation.
- Oversee permitting requirements and design components.
- Supervise project management activities ensuring scope, budget, schedule, quality, and safety standards are met.
- Conduct field inspections and provide oversight during construction activities.
- Conduct quality reviews, offer mentorship, and stay current with necessary trainings.
- Effectively manage time and communication on multiple concurrent projects.
- Cultivate and sustain client and regulatory relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Mandatory completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- PE license completed or in progress.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience.
- Project management background is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant engineering software.
- Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM (Revit), ArcGIS, and stormwater modeling tools.
- Willingness to travel for project and marketing purposes.
This opportunity will be open for a minimum of 72 hours and available until filled.
