Description

Provide skilled support for a wide variety of utility duties, relating to plumbing and light mechanical needs for Prestonwood Baptist Church and its entities. (PBC).

Responsibilities:
  • Perform general repairs, new projects, and preventative maintenance of plumbing and limited mechanical equipment
  • Provide ongoing assistance by learning and/or conducting a wide variety of activities, including but not limited to:
    • Hot Water Heater Systems
    • Boiler Water Systems
    • Chemical Treatment Systems
    • Water Fountains
    • Baptistery System
    • Restroom plumbing components
    • Basic Mechanical
    • General Maintenance
  • Inspect, monitor and service all major plumbing equipment, restroom fixtures and floor drains on a scheduled basis in conjunction with a preventive maintenance (PM) program. This includes but is not limited to boilers and pumps in the Central Plant
  • Serve as the technical expert for troubleshooting plumbing issues / projects
  • Operate an aerial lift when needed
  • Source necessary parts and materials for review and processing
  • Demonstrate proper tools and equipment use, with an emphasis on safety
  • Work well with co-workers and engage in cross training as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Requirements:
  • Growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as an active member of a Bible believing and preaching ministry
  • Knowledge of plumbing and light mechanical
  • Ability to operate church vehicles and other equipment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills a must
  • Ability to provide service with a positive and willing attitude
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to perform physical activities requiring moving one's whole body parts, such as in climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling and lifting where the activities often also require considerable use of the arms and legs, such as in the physical handling of materials and equipment including the use of mechanical snakes, hand tools, ladders and power tools
  • Ability to routinely lift items that may be in excess of 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in varying heat and cold consistent with outside weather conditions
  • Basic Microsoft Word and Outlook skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
