Job Description:
This role involves welcoming customers and guiding them through the patient registration process in a prompt, professional, and friendly manner. Interviewing individuals and gathering essential demographic and financial details either in person or virtually to assist Essentia Health in ensuring accurate patient registration and billing while complying with regulations. Acting as a bridge between patients and Virtual Patient Registration Representatives and Patient Schedulers, this position includes tasks such as finalizing patient checkouts, arranging follow-up appointments based on physician recommendations, and furnishing patients with cost estimates and schedules for their future visits.
Education Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct interviews with patients to collect comprehensive demographic, financial, and basic health information for proper care provision
- Obtain and update patient information including insurance cards and identification in the medical records
- Perform point of service data collection, handle patient co-payments, reconcile cash drawers, and maintain accurate revenue records
- Manage assigned work queues per supervisor's instructions and interact courteously with patients, colleagues, and others
- Answer incoming calls, set appointments, and direct to the clinical team as necessary
- Sanitize registration equipment, restock supplies, and perform other clerical duties as assigned
Previous experience as a Patient Access Representative or Patient Scheduler
Completion of Healthcare Business Insight's Patient Access 2nd Level Certification Program within six months of hire date
6Shift RotationFTE Flex D/E/NShifts vary, Pay Range is $20.56 per hour. The displayed salary range is approximate; final compensation will consider the complete benefits package. Total offer depends on the candidate's experience, skills, and internal team equity. Union affiliation with VA Hospital AFSCME Service Workers (VAHOSPAIDE) since December 1, 2019. Job offers are conditional on passing a post-offer assessment that includes a drug test, immunization review, required vaccine proof, and background screening.
