RESPONSIBILITES

  • Electronically prepare and file U.S. trademark prosecution and maintenance documents with the USPTO, encompassing applications, office action responses, extensions of time, and more
  • Perform trademark screening searches using third-party platforms and common law searches
  • Communicate with clients regarding standard phases of trademark prosecution and maintenance
  • Complete the preparation and filing of trademark documents with WIPO, including International Registration applications and responses to Notices of Irregularity
  • Coordinate with foreign counsel on trademark matters outside the U.S., including notarization and legalization of documents
  • Handle various tasks, such as preparing ownership documents, conducting trademark portfolio due diligence, and aiding in trademark enforcement and customs registrations

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Skilled in trademark prosecution, maintenance, and renewal, with a preference for experience in both U.S. and foreign jurisdictions.
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in the legal industry or a Legal Assistant Certificate from an ABA-approved institution; significant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and adept at quickly learning new applications used within the department.
  • Experienced in utilizing the Internet for research, including trademark clearance databases and investigations, with familiarity in PATTSY or similar docketing software, Saegis, Lexis/Nexis, and Westlaw.
  • Proficiency in trademark search and clearance, encompassing both preliminary and comprehensive methods.
