Job Opening Summary

  • Works under the guidance of the Patient Relations Manager or Supervisor.
  • Responsible for creating a friendly and supportive atmosphere for patients and their families at UF Health Jax and UF Health North facilities.
  • Acts as a link between patients, families, visitors, and staff to enhance the patient experience.
  • Orients and assists patients/families with hospital facilities, services, and resources.
  • Aids patients in the arrival process at different hospital points.
  • Manages communication and issue resolution between staff, departments, patients, and families.
  • Oversees the lobby and waiting areas to address any potential concerns.
  • Participates in delivering high-quality services, including coordinating care and offering crisis intervention.

Job Opening Qualifications

  • Required Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred Education: Associate's Degree or proficiency in a foreign language.
  • Necessary Skills:
    • Sincerely enjoys working with and assisting people.
    • Strong problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
    • Ability to handle stressful situations professionally and courteously.
    • Aptitude for working with diverse groups.
    • De-escalation expertise.
  • Required Experience: Less than one (1) year of personal computer use and one to two (1-2) years of customer service experience.
  • Preferred Experience: Two (2) years of customer service experience in a healthcare-related field.
  • Required Licensure/Certifications: Effective 7/1/2023, Basic Life Support certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association is mandatory.
