At the Department of Economic Security, Division of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS), we are on the lookout for a dedicated and analytical individual with solid leadership skills to fill the role of District Program Manager 1 within the Central Intake Unit. Our mission is to assist vulnerable Arizonans in meeting their essential needs and to live with dignity and independence.

As the District Program Manager 1, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations related to receiving and processing reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of adults in need. Your role involves ensuring timely responses to all communications, monitoring staff performance, and implementing necessary improvements to achieve our goals. Additionally, you will educate stakeholders on the processes and responsibilities of the Central Intake Unit.

In this role, you may have the opportunity to work remotely within Arizona based on business requirements and performance standards.

Job Responsibilities:

- Manage, supervise, and provide guidance to staff while adhering to DES/APS policies
- Oversee the workload of the Central Intake Unit, identify areas for improvement, and provide necessary support and training to staff
- Compile and analyze data, prepare reports, and contribute to policy development
- Engage with stakeholders and present on Central Intake Unit operations

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Knowledge of:
- Relevant federal and state regulations, DES and Adult Protective Services policies
- Administration and management principles
- Local resources for aging, mental health, and disabilities
- Accounting and budgeting procedures

Skills in:
- Effective communication and active listening
- Supervisory techniques and data analysis
- Program evaluation and policy interpretation

Ability to:
- Prepare clear and concise reports
- Communicate effectively with diverse groups
- Understand and apply case management principles
- Supervise investigative activities

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Business, or Public Administration, along with experience in social services programs, human services, or call center environments. Alternatively, candidates with previous supervisory experience would also be considered.
