Job Title: Concrete Structures Foreman

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Concrete Structures Foreman to oversee our concrete construction projects, specializing in bridge construction and bridge rehabilitation. As the Concrete Structures Foreman, you will be responsible for leading a team of workers and ensuring that concrete structures are built safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications and industry standards.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and coordinate construction activities related to concrete structures, including bridge construction and bridge rehabilitation projects.
  2. Lead a crew of construction workers, including concrete finishers, form setters, and laborers, providing guidance, training, and direction as needed.
  3. Ensure that all work is performed safely and in compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and other relevant standards.
  4. Read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements and ensure accurate execution of work.
  5. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to schedule work activities and resources effectively.
  6. Monitor progress of work and productivity of crew members, identifying and addressing any issues or obstacles that may arise.
  7. Conduct quality inspections of concrete work to ensure that it meets project specifications and quality standards.
  8. Manage material and equipment resources, including ordering concrete materials, coordinating deliveries, and maintaining tools and equipment.
  9. Communicate regularly with project stakeholders, providing updates on project status, milestones, and any potential issues or delays.
  10. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, accountability, and a commitment to excellence among crew members.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in construction management or related field is preferred.
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in concrete construction, with a focus on bridge construction or rehabilitation.
  3. Strong knowledge of concrete construction techniques, materials, and equipment.
  4. Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role
  5. Familiarity with construction plans, drawings, and specifications
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced construction environment, while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality.
  8. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Certification or training in concrete construction or related field.
  2. Experience working on bridge construction or rehabilitation projects.
  3. Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations, including DOT requirements.
  4. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications.
  5. Familiarity with construction software and technology, such as scheduling software or mobile applications for project management.
