IU Health is currently seeking a collaborative and organized leader, who is results-driven and inspired by meaningful work. The Program Manager will have oversight of the Trauma Verification Program at Riley Hospital. They will have approximately 7 reports. This manager will coordinate, manage, and facilitate the Trauma Verification Program. The ideal leader will have experience in trauma, trauma verification standards, and have prior leadership experience.

The Program Manager manages and oversees ongoing analysis, development, and implementation of methods and systems to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness for the Burn or Trauma Program and registry.

Supports decision making, leadership and strategic planning including the efficient and productive use of personnel, material, and financial resources. Responsible for budget management for the program.

Provides leadership, coordination, technical assistance, consultation, and other resources on development of internal education and outreach programs based on community needs and health outcomes.

Responsible for continuous assessment and improvement of standardized quality of care delivered for the Burn or Trauma patients through the evaluation of clinical outcomes.

Serves as a liaison to administration and represents the specialty program standards on hospital and regional committees to enhance patient care.

Educates physicians, extenders, and staff on registry-related data definitions and associated outcome indicators. Ensures project compliance with CMS, FDA, hospital, Institutional Review Board, and sponsor standards for research. Collaborates with providers, business unit, ancillary departments and management regarding registry, patient, and data management issues.

Leads a team that inputs data into research databases and data registries, audits that data for completeness and accuracy, and assists in generating data files for national registry data submissions in compliance with IRB regulation.

Monitors accurate data dictionary for abstraction, metric reporting, terms, and calculations as determined by the national registry sponsor.

Reports progress of data abstraction efforts on a routine basis and assists in coordination to ensure reporting deadlines are met.

Verifies accuracy and completeness of data retrieved and analyzed.

  • Master's Degree is required.
  • Requires 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires Master's degree in Nursing, Public Health or related field; Doctorate preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires clinical experience that includes at least 3 years caring for the specified patient population.
  • Requires maintaining competency and continuing education in area of specialty per program requirements.
  • Maintain current membership in national or regional specialty organization.
  • Requires experience managing grants.
  • Requires experience in research design and database management, of human subjects and in managing research projects.
