Formlabs is seeking a skilled Senior Controls Engineer specialized in creating and developing bare-metal microcontroller firmware.
Controlling systems like galvanometers, motors, heaters, force measurement, and temperature sensing are vital for our printers and accessories, making you a key player in designing and implementing control code.
These systems are integral to various Formlabs products, offering you the chance to contribute to a range of projects.

- Architect and develop mechatronics control systems for multiple platforms.
- Collaborate with various engineering disciplines to create top-tier solutions and solve challenging problems.
- Identify issues, determine underlying causes, and implement solutions during product development phases.
- Contribute to strategic decisions such as software framework selection and critical architecture modifications.
Your Profile:
- Take pleasure in satisfying customers and are dedicated to delivering products that surpass customer expectations.
- More than 5 years of post-graduate experience, involving real-time embedded firmware development in C++.
- Skilled in C++ and capable of constructing complex bare-metal embedded software systems.
- Experience with convolutional mathematics, mathematical optimization, and/or machine learning is advantageous.
- Able to troubleshoot hardware issues using electrical schematics, CAD, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
- Comfortable working in a multi-developer environment and proficient in designing and interfacing with intricate algorithms.
Desired Skills:
- Interest in 3D printing, robotics, lasers, or related technologies.
- Background in working on, diagnosing, or maintaining prototype hardware.
- Experience in creating and developing embedded control systems from scratch.
