Job Description

The Criminal Practice is seeking a Borough Administrator for the Queens Office. The Borough Administrator is directly responsible for all administrative procedures and operations in the office and supervises administrative matters relating to more than 50 support personnel. The Borough Administrator participates in Practice-wide and Office-wide management discussions and decision-making and is expected to work closely with the AIC in these efforts.

The Borough Administrator is responsible for the smooth operation of the office, including purchasing and maintaining office equipment, facilities issues, expense reports, petty cash, leave accrual reports and statistical reports. The Borough Administrator must foster and maintain relationships with counterparts in the various borough offices, the Juvenile Rights Practice, and the Civil Practice. Responsibilities include hiring, training, management and supervision of staff. These duties include, but are not limited to, overseeing the general functions of office facility, procurement, personnel, and reporting sent to departments such as finance, human resources and management and the application of Society-wide policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee day-to-day office operations
  • Provide administrative and managerial leadership for the office
  • Maintenance of office facilities and equipment (which requires being a liaison with both internal administrative shared services and external service providers)
  • Foster and encourage teamwork and communication
  • Participation in the examination and improvement of internal administrative procedures and systems, including the office's use of technology
  • Direct supervision of administrative and support staff relating to hiring, arranging for training, handling disciplinary actions, controlling workflow, and office operations
  • Serves as a liaison between the support and legal staff
  • Liaise with building management, vendors, agencies, and the courthouse community as needed
  • Foster and maintain relationships with counterparts from internal departments, offices, and agencies outside the LAS community
  • General administrative functions
  • Ensure the proper implementation of office procedures and policies
  • Generate and maintain reports from various database systems
  • Cover other offices when needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience required
  • Previous administrative and 3+ years supervisory experience required
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, written, and organizational skills are required
  • Ability to balance and prioritize workload and problem solving is a must
  • Excellent computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Sharepoint, and ADP
  • Workforce Manager and other office technology (copier, fax, stamp machine)
  • Must be a self-starter
SALARY TRANSPARENCY

The posting reflects the range of potential salaries for the role. The specific salary offers will be dependent on candidate qualifications, including collectively bargained salary steps for unionized roles.

Salary Range/ Salary: $89,749
