Role Overview: As an Accounting Intern at XYZ Company, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review check requests and invoices for accuracy in account coding and supervisor approval.
  • Input manual checks into the Account Payable system when necessary.
  • Assist in entering month-end journal entries as assigned.
  • Participate in the preparation of monthly Bank Reconciliations.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Support in creating and maintaining agency program budgets.
  • Generate financial reports for department managers upon request.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
  • Adhere to agency policies, COA regulations, and federal and state requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  • Requirement to be bondable if necessary.
  • Possession of a valid Ohio Driver's License, meeting driving insurability requirements if applicable.
  • Ability to pass the agency's criminal background check.

Minimum Educational/Licensure Requirements: Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Accounting is preferred.

Minimum Experience Requirements: Completion of relevant coursework in Accounting.

Physical Requirements: Capable of sitting for extended periods.
