Job Title: Special Education Teacher at Uncommon Schools - Rochester Prep


Job Description:

  • Passionate about developing and monitoring accommodations for students with special needs.
  • Advocate for students with specialized instruction to enhance academic achievement.

Responsibilities:

  • Instruction:
    - Modify, differentiate, and teach an inclusive curriculum emphasizing diversity.
    - Collaborate with families and Special Education teams to develop 504 and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
    - Create an inclusive and safe environment for self-guided learning.
  • Special Education Specific Responsibilities:
    - Analyze trends in student work samples and assessments with the education team.
    - Ensure compliance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and teach different instruction strategies.
  • School Culture:
    - Build positive relationships with students and families.
    - Engage in professional development and mentorship sessions.
    - Collaborate with the grade level team to develop academic goals.
