Watercrest Richmond is seeking a Housekeeper to join their team in maintaining the luxury, cleanliness, and comfort of our beautiful Watercrest community. You will be responsible for day-to-day housekeeping in resident apartments, common areas, and back-of-house areas. As a vital team member, you will also oversee cleaning supplies and equipment to prioritize resident safety.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Follow the guidelines of the Watercrest Housekeeping Handbook.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and attractive appearance of the community's front area consistently.
  • Ensure cleanliness in all public and staff areas throughout the community.
  • Keep occupied resident apartments clean and tidy.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all unoccupied and model apartments.
  • Complete any special projects assigned by the Environmental Services Director.
  • Adhere to safety protocols while performing tasks and using equipment.
  • Handle proper disposal of trash, waste, and other materials.
  • Perform various cleaning tasks such as dusting, disinfecting, and washing.
  • Inspect and clean unoccupied apartments to prepare them for new residents.
  • Attend to cleaning needs in public restrooms multiple times a day.
  • Ensure cleanliness in storage areas and secure housekeeping carts when not in use.
  • Dispose of soiled linens correctly as needed.
  • Follow a schedule for washing windows and cleaning air vents.
  • Uphold infection control practices at all times.
  • Report any safety hazards or equipment issues promptly.
  • Report incidents and accidents to the Environmental Services Director.
  • Maintain residents' confidentiality and respect their rights.
  • Create a homely atmosphere for residents and maintain cleanliness in common areas.
  • Engage with residents and their families to provide a caring environment.
  • Coordinate with the Environmental Services Director and care staff for immediate cleaning needs.
  • Always maintain a professional appearance in company uniform.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Effective communication with management, team members, residents, and others.
  • Capable of making independent and informed decisions.
  • Warm, friendly, and caring communication style.
  • Passion for working with senior citizens.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
  • Prior experience in housekeeping.
  • Valid driver's license.

Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of two (2) years working as a housekeeper in a multi-unit community or hotel setting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to concentrate with frequent interruptions.
  • Capable of working under stressful and emergency situations.
  • Able to perform various physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting.
  • Physically fit to lift up to 50 pounds.

Occupational Exposure / Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Housekeepers should anticipate possible contact with infectious materials while on duty.
  • Wearing personal protective equipment is essential for safeguarding against workplace hazards.
