Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Accountant with a background in Accounts Payable to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full cycle of month-end close and accounts payable, as well as performing various accounting tasks to support the financial operations of the company. This role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable Management:
    • Oversee the entire accounts payable process, including the review, coding, and posting of invoices and credit card reports.
    • Ensure timely and accurate payment of all vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and other financial obligations.
    • Maintain relationships with vendors and resolve any discrepancies or issues promptly.
  • Reconciliation and Reporting:
  • Perform regular reconciliations of accounts payable-related accounts.
  • Prepare monthly accruals and assist with month-end closing processes.
  • Generate and review accounts payable reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • General Accounting Duties:
  • Participant with general ledger maintenance, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial statements and other financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of accounting policies and
procedures.
  • Audit and Compliance:
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Ensure all transactions comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Minimum associate degree in accounting required, bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field highly valued.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience with a focus on accounts payable. Experience in a corporate or large organizational setting is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Experience in real estate accounting preferred.
    • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
    • Proficient in property management software, Entrata Preferred.
    • Strong MS Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Working Conditions:
  • Office Environment: This position typically works in an office environment with standard office equipment. Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods.
Physical Requirements:
  • Standard Office Requirements: This job requires the ability to sit for extended periods, use a computer and keyboard, and communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
