Staff Full Stack Software Engineer at Hidden Level

Hidden Level is seeking a talented Staff Software Engineer who has a proven track record of leading teams and deploying software products, and who is interested in solving challenging problems in Counter Unmanned Airborne Systems (C-UAS) and Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management (UTM). The ideal candidate will have experience working with radars and related sensor technology, an interest in UAS technology and 10+ years of professional experience in software development. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated and driven team developing cutting-edge technologies that enable the safe integration of drones into everyday life and industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development and oversee the lifecycle of software products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, architect solutions, and implement features.
  • Serve as a technical advisor and mentor to engineering teams, providing guidance on architecture, coding standards, and development methodologies.
  • Drive the adoption of new technologies and processes to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Identify and address technical challenges, proposing innovative solutions to improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Implement security best practices throughout the development lifecycle to protect data and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead initiatives to improve development processes, tools, and infrastructure, promoting automation and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with strong programming background.
  • 10+years of related professional experience. Masters degree a plus.
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in developing for Linux-based operating systems, Ubuntu a plus.
  • Expertise in C++ and Python application development.
  • Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
  • Experience working with sensor devices and building scalable IoT architectures a plus.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Proven track record of leading technical projects and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Experience with mobile app development.

Salary at Hidden Level Inc. is market competitive and determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individuals particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $132,000 to $164,000 annually. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Hidden Level Inc.'s total compensation package for employees.
