The Digital Solutions Division, a division of Tyler Technologies, Payment Solutions team offers a comprehensive suite of payment processing solutions built exclusively for government. We are looking for a motivated Software Engineering Manager to join the Payments Platform Team.

The Manager of Payments Platform oversees the development and delivery of key components of cross-team unified solutions as the basis of our Payments Platform. You will be responsible for coordinating the design and development of innovative software solutions to support ambitious business goals, providing coordination and oversight to the engineering team, facilitating technical decisions, cross-team project collaboration, and continuously refining development practices.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure your team(s) have the context they need to make implementation decisions that align with product and organizational objectives.
  • Coach and guide engineers, and testers, in expanding their skills and developing their careers.
  • Engage with other Engineering Managers, Principals, and Lead Engineers, and Directors in shaping technology choices and delivery strategies.
  • Deliver top-notch solutions for payments, collaboration, presentation, and more.
  • Collaborate in a dynamic environment with a shared mission.
  • Facilitate technical discussions to maintain progress on your team.
  • Focus on improving scalability, reliability, security, and performance of the platform.
  • Advocate for technical investments aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Build consensus among engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Communicate architectural decisions and technical strategies effectively to align development teams behind a shared vision.
  • Take on new challenges and opportunities to enhance your skills.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to mitigate project issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated management abilities and effective group facilitation skills.
  • Experience in managing, mentoring, and recruiting team members.
  • Experience in developing roadmaps for engineering teams.
  • Ability to take ownership of a product or service and ensure its success.
  • Professional communication skills in writing and verbally.
