Description

Position Summary
The Shop Service Technician works as a team member of the Service Department. Our Service Technicians conduct repair and maintenance work for blast machines, hand blast cabinets, burn-off ovens and parts washers. They are also in charge of rebuild machines to be sold. Shop Technicians are assigned to manage records of such machines or s other mechanical items in the store.

The technician must be able to set up and test for proper operation of the appropriate systems using basic test equipment and procedures and then train customer maintenance staff, as needed.

The technician must be able to perform removal, disassembly, and reconditioning following correct drawings and technical manual procedures. The technician must be able to properly and safely operate all machines marketed and serviced by HFI Arrow Industrial.

Requirements:

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of how to maintain, repair, diagnose and correctly install or replace equipment and machinery.
  • Firm technical knowledge of blueprints, diagrams, mechanical engineering schematics and electrical diagrams.
  • Excellent communication skills that allow them to explain technical problems.
  • Strong knowledge about their industry and the general requirements of different equipment types.
  • Precise written communication abilities for completing repair, installation, and maintenance reports.
  • Physical stamina in the handling of complex tools and heavy equipment and moving through confined spaces.
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision while using their own technical judgment regarding complex tasks.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work on all job sites, each site may be different.
  • Conduct yourself in the presence of customers to present the core values at HFI Arrow Industrial.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
  • Welding experience, certification a plus
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Have a basic understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety.
  • Communication skills necessary to work with management, customers, and coworkers.
  • Possess the technical knowledge to diagnose and repair customer and companyspecific equipment.
  • Possess the ability and skills to conduct training courses with customers.

Education and/or Experience

  • HS Diploma.
  • 3 years experience with problemsolving engineering solutions.
Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

Reasoning Ability

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
No certifications are required however AWS certified welding is a plus
