The
Lycée Français de Chicago is hiring a Daycare Assistant for its daycare program for ages 24-36 months.

Under the authority of the
LFC_daycare_** Director, the Daycare Assistant will look after the basic needs of the children under their care.

The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience in caring for 2-year-olds. They should display a friendly demeanor and have a love for children. They should be compassionate, patient, and strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment for children. Early childhood development experience is a plus and knowledge of the French language is required.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate degree in child development, elementary education, or other related fields preferred
  • First Aid Training
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A strong knowledge of child development.
  • Able to lift 2530 lbs.
  • Able to walk, squat/kneel, sit on the floor, see, hear, and speak with children.
  • Knowledge of the French language is required for this position

Responsibilities:

  • Providing support for the childcare teacher.
  • Monitoring and supervising the children constantly.
  • Assisting the childcare teacher in maintaining a safe and positive environment.
  • Cultivating relationships with children, parents, and guardians.
  • Alerting the Primary Caregiver to emergencies.
  • Serving meals and snacks.
  • Greeting parents and addressing children by their names.
  • Adhering to procedures in changing a diaper.
  • Assisting with sand, water, or playground activities.
  • Assisting in putting children to sleep.

Additional Information:

  • This is a parttime position with benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 403b with 4% match after 2 years, 70% tuition remission for any children enrolled at the
    Lycée Français de Chicago, 10% tuition remission for any children enrolled at
    LFC_daycare_**, and a generous paid timeoff policy (sick leave plus 4 weeks paid leave per year).
  • All prospective employees must be able to clear a background check, as well as provide proof of COVID19 vaccination, MMR vaccination, and negative results of a TB test.
  • This position requires onsite presence at the
    LFC campus.
