This role, which is remote with occasional travel to support out-of-area DoD, Federal Civilian, and commercial clients, seeks a Contracting Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide comprehensive support to government system acquisition program management offices.

As a senior advisor, the chosen candidate will offer strategic acquisition planning expertise across critical capability life cycles.

This includes guidance in contract management, purchasing, negotiations, and vendor management; developing/evaluating COAs to implement rapid acquisition using OTAs; and developing/evaluating source selection criteria for major competitive contracting efforts.

Will work with senior government personnel on a regular basis, and will frequently be called on to provide briefings and lead large meetings.

The ideal candidate will possess U.S. Air Force and Space contracting experience with an active Top Secret/SCI clearance. Contracting experience from other DoD service acquisition organizations is also considered highly relevant. Versatility and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment are essential.

Candidates should excel in active listening, possess exceptional oral and written communication skills, and demonstrate a collaborative approach in engaging with both clients and team members.

This role plays a pivotal part in delivering acquisition services that align seamlessly with the customer's mission objectives.

Responsibilities encompass a range of support services, including:
Analyzing and evaluating requirements to devise optimal acquisition strategies.

Facilitating and spearheading collaborative working groups aimed at enhancing the customer's acquisition capabilities for mission-critical products and services.

Crafting comprehensive contracting documentation spanning the pre-award, source selection, and post-award phases.

Conducting thorough reviews and analyses of bids and proposals.

Providing additional support services integral to the contracting process.


In essence, this position ensures the smooth and efficient execution of acquisition services, contributing directly to the fulfillment of the customer's mission goals.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role you will have:

A DoD Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance

Master's Degree

15 years of Contracting experience with major acquisition programs

7 years in a leadership position

Extensive knowledge of Air Force and Space contracting policies and procedures and application to development, production and fielding of major weapon systems

Extensive experience with Defense Acquisition management processes as contained in the DoD 5000 series directives and the FAR/DFARS

Ability to work effectively both independently and a part of a collaborative team

Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal

Travel up to 20%

Additional desired experience and skills:
Experience working with Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office and Defense Contract Management Agency organizations

Experience executing alternative/rapid acquisition authorities

Broad experience with development, coordination and communication of contracting strategies and recommendations with mid- and senior-level Service and OSD personnel
