Position: UI/UX Designer

Work Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid)

Client: AmeriCorps

Security: Must be able to obtain T4 (Public Trust) Clearance

Primary Responsibilities

  • User Research & Analysis: Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to gather insights and understand user needs and behaviors.
  • Wireframing & Prototyping: Create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows to effectively communicate design ideas and interactions.
  • Visual Design: Design high-fidelity UI mockups that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional, adhering to brand guidelines and design principles.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of design elements into the final product.
  • Usability Testing: Plan and conduct usability tests to gather feedback and iteratively improve designs.
  • Design Systems: Contribute to and maintain a consistent design system and style guide.
  • Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve our design processes and outputs.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design process and final products.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
    • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
    • Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for detail.
    • Ability to communicate design concepts effectively to stakeholders and team members.
    • Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
    • Familiarity with HTML/CSS and front-end development principles is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Work Schedule: Hybrid (9am - 6pm) - Minimum of 2 days in the office required
